Newcastle United are in ‘advanced negotiations’ to sign Moussa Sissako – Report
Latest reports from France state that Moussa Sissako is set to sign for Newcastle United.
No, not that one.
Only an a/o different to our old friend, Sissako is a centre-back currently with PSG.
He turns 19 in November and his only first team involvement so far, saw the then 17 year old make sub appearances against both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid in July 2018, both games in the pre-season Champions Cup competition.
Moussa Sissako became a regular for the PSG reserve side who play in the fourth tier of French football, the defender starting 21 league matches and coming off the bench in another two.
French radio station RMC have covered the reported progress of the Allan Saint-Maximin transfer throughout today, with claims that a deal is now done and the 22 year old winger has agreed terms on a six year deal, whilst Nice are said to be getting a minimum of £20m for the player including easily reached add-on bonus payments. The initial fee stated as £16.4m by the French media organisation, as well as others.
As you can see below, both RMC and GFFN are claiming that this Moussa Sissako transfer is close to being finalised.
With such a concentration once again on Ligue 1 clubs, as Newcastle are also trying to sign 20 year old left-back Stanley N’Soki from PSG, the idea of targeting young French players with potential (both playing wise and financially) looks to be very much back in fashion.
Whether Graham Carr is once more playing an active part in Newcastle United’s recruitment after Rafa’s departure, is an unknown.
No mention of what kind of fee Newcastle would be paying, or indeed whether Moussa Sissako would be instantly joining the first team squad if a transfer happened, or heading for the under 23 set up initially.
GFFN (Get french Football News) report:
‘Newcastle United in advanced negotiations for Moussa Sissako
RMC report that Premier League side Newcastle United are in advanced negotiations to close a deal with PSG to sign 18-year-old central defender Moussa Sissako.
Under contract until 2021 with Les Parisiens, it is not believed that the young Franco-Malian has a future under Thomas Tuchel. A deal is close both from a fee perspective & on a personal terms level.’
