Allan Saint-Maximin will very shortly be a Newcastle United player according to a new media update from France.

RMC say that agreement has been reached after ‘several weeks’ of bargaining.

The French radio station stating that Lee Charnley is in Nice along with a number of other Newcastle United representatives to conclude the deal.

The signing is set to cost Newcastle 18m euros (£16.4m) plus add-ons.

There had been a falling out between Allan Saint-Maximin and manager Patrick Vieira in the second half of last season, plus Vieira needs to generate funds for his own signings.

Allan Saint-Maximin came off the bench in a 1-0 defeat to Cardiff on Saturday and then started and scored in a 6-1 hammering at Burnley on Tuesday.

Newcastle are desperate for more signings in this final week of the window, especially to provide goals and creativity in the final third.

GFFN (Get French Football News) report:

There are still finer details being worked on with OGC Nice, as well as agent commissions, to resolve before a deal can become official.’
