Confirmed Newcastle team v Watford – Willems, Atsu, Almiron, Joelinton all start
The Newcastle team v Waford has just been confirmed.
Newcastle kicking off their fourth Premier League match of the season on Saturday afternoon at 3pm.
Steve Bruce hoping to pick up his first ever NUFC home win and make it consecutive Premier league victories after beating spurs last Sunday.
We knew Gayle, Carroll, Lejeune, ASM, Ritchie and Yedlin were all definitely ruled out by injury.
This is today’s Newcastle team v Watford:
Dubravka, Krafth, Schar, Lascelles, Dummett, Willems, Hayden, Longstaff, Almiron, Joelinton
So two changes from Tottenham, ASM and Ritchie out through injury, Atsu and Willems coming in.
Willems makes his first Premier League start.
Whilst this appears to be all of the available Newcastle United senior outfield players, Rob Elliot seemingly the only one not making the matchday squad.
The last thing Newcastle need is any more injuries with six out already, although when it comes to the Under 21 players, Matty Longstaff showed promise against Leicester in midweek.
Yet again, not great attacking options on the bench if needed, though hopefully Muto’s goal on Wednesday will have given him some added confidence.
Subs
Darlow, Manquillo, Clark, Fernandez, Ki, Shelvey, Muto
