Confirmed Newcastle team v Tottenham – Saint-Maximin, Almiron, Longstaff, Joelinton all start
The Newcastle team v Tottenham has just been confirmed.
Newcastle kicking off their third Premier League match of the season on Sunday afternoon at 4.30pm.
Steve Bruce hoping to pick up the first point(s) of the season.
We knew Gayle, Carroll, Lejeune and Yedlin were all ruled out by injury.
Whilst Allan Saint-Maximin was back training at the end of the week, so could potentially make the matchday squad.
This is today’s Newcastle team v Tottenham:
Dubravka, Krafth, Schar, Lascelles, Dummett, Hayden, Longstaff, Saint-Maximin, Ritchie, Almiron, Joelinton
I am all in favour of this team as the three central midfielders wasn’t working and Shelvey can’t match workrate of Hayden and Longstaff as a two in the middle.
We were desperate for more threat up front and great to see Allan Saint-Maximin making his first start. Hopefully he is fit enough to do himself justice.
So two changes, ASM and Longstaff in for Shelvey and Ki.
Darlow, Manquillo, Fernandez, Atsu, Willems, Shelvey, Muto
