Would you be happy to take all of this if it ends in a Newcastle United Takeover?

So, we are led to believe that a statement is ‘incoming’ from the Bin Zayed Group regarding the Newcastle United takeover.

Right here goes, just extract yourselves from the usual negative mindset that is usually (understandably) entrenched into the minds of 99% of our fan base, of which I’m included.

Now I’m inclined to believe that the Bin Zayed Group ARE in fact real and that they may have interest in buying Newcastle United.. but I’m also inclined to believe that we don’t have a motivated and willing seller in Mike Ashley.

It’s confusing that they haven’t put out any rebuttals IF this takeover talk is all manufactured as surely they would – but I am indeed expecting this ‘incoming’ statement to come at some point soon, even if just to say that a deal could not be reached with Ashley.

Either that or Ashley himself will preempt this and release one of his own in the same way he did with manager Rafa Benitez’ contract. We ARE approaching a tipping point of sorts.

This negativity at the club is understandable after 12 years of absolute mismanagement and deliberate sabotage. We as fans are now left without any doubt that Mike Ashley will do anything he can to sabotage this club on purpose. There is no other explanation for what he has done, and continues to get away with, as he simply doesn’t care and obviously gets a kick out of it.

On the supposed Newcastle United takeover, there are a few caveats and questions.

Why put up shirt prices?

Why put up season tickets?

Why sell a prized asset in Ayoze Perez for £30m, as this would surely affect the asking price and conditions of any sale?

Why put out a statement saying that Rafa Benitez won’t be the manager beyond expiry of his contact?

Why state that there will be a new manager search?

If Rafa Benitez was to be dispensed with, surely the Bin Zayed Group would simply approach Rafa, tell him to sit tight for a couple of weeks and they would have talks thereafter?

Those questions/situations imply HEAVILY that there is NO takeover.

But let’s just ask a question. Let’s say the takeover IS happening. The takeover is ON. Would you be happy with all of the above IF it got rid of Mike Ashley? Short-term asset stripping and petty behaviour but our ultimate desire at the end of it achieved.

I’m massively disappointed with losing the services of Rafa Benitez as I really felt his experience and talents could work for us. It was a gut wrenching blow but I did have plenty time to prepare for it as it was blatantly obvious it was going to happen a long time ago. That said, there ARE other managers out there, there are other managers who can make a go of Newcastle United, IF the takeover happens and we get rid of the one person that has been holding us back all this time.

The answer surely has to be yes. It would be a point where we could draw a nice line in the sand and we could actually return to being a football club again.
