West Ham fans comments after defeat to Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United – Interesting

West Ham fans weren’t too happy when they saw their team lose to Manchester City.

The Hammers taking the lead on Wednesday, only to end up losing 4-1.

However, fair to say they are far far unhappier after watching their players lose to Newcastle on Saturday in the Premier League Asia Trophy losers final.

A 1-0 win thanks to Yoshinori Muto’s left foot volley.

Newcastle were a lot better than their opening 4-0 defeat but also very obvious Wolves had been far better than what West Ham showed today.

Interesting to see what the Hammers supporters did make of it…

West Ham fans comments via their Knees Up Mother Brown message board:

‘FFS Newcastle are s.. and we still end up losing to them.

Oh well, at least it will give Bruce a bit of breathing space.

I still expect them to be bottom 3 come December.’

‘Losing to a football club in disarray..’

‘New manager bounce…

We beat these twice with ease last season when it mattered.’

‘I very much doubt that many of the defenders who have played today would be first choice for the PL.’

‘Pellegrini out!!’

‘(In second half) It feels like going 4-1-4-1 has made this change to the game.

Newcastle don’t have the space in midfield anymore.’

‘Shelvey now playing like Shelvey. Trying Hollywood passes when not needed.’

‘West Ham started brightly in the Asia Trophy before being blown away by Man City. Against Newcastle they never got going at all.

Pellegrini has a strong first XI, but his squad is still lacking in depth and requires additional surgery.’

‘It’s almost like it’s a meaningless pre season friendly.’

‘First trophy of the season…The Shanghai Spoon.’

‘The positives were Johnson & Wilshere and we were better second half after a very poor performance in the first half.

Got to hope things will improve heading into the remaining friendly games. More passion/desire please.’

‘The notable thing today is how many runs beyond our defence Newcastle’s midfielders made. Not one of our midfielders have the legs to do that. When Antonio made a run behind their defence and got played in, he looked and nobody had got in the box.

I don’t know if it’s a lack of fitness, effort or both but we need to bring in someone capable of doing it. Hayden did it a few times but I just don’t see it in our players.’
