Steve Bruce Premier League stats compared to previous Newcastle United Managers – Oh Dear
It appears that Steve Bruce is set to be the next Newcastle United Manager.
Alternatively, if Mike Ashley wants to be open and transparent as he was when giving John Carver and Steve McClaren the job, he will become the next Newcastle United Head Coach.
Either way, he will be just another in a series of desperate people who should never have got the job, prepared to take the job with whatever qualifications are attached, including no say on anything of importance, apart from training the squad and picking the team.
Rafa Benitez of course broke that sequence of appointments but Mike Ashley made absolutely sure he wouldn’t want to stick around beyond his three year contract.
Now I know that pretty much all of you out there will be thinking this is just yet another disaster set to be added to the Tsunami’s worth of them we have had this Summer…but fair is fair.
We will give Steve Bruce a fair hearing and look at the facts.
Here is a list of the Newcastle United Managers who have managed 200 or more Premier League matches in their career, for NUFC and other clubs.
The table shows total number of Premier League games managed, average points per PL game, then the average goals for and against in the Premier League:
As you can see, we have a certain Rafa Benitez at the very top.
Kevin Keegan, an excellent performance as well.
Then we have the rest.
Then we have Steve Bruce.
His mates in the media are coming out trying to claim black is white but come on, there is nothing at all that says Steve Bruce is somebody who should be even joked about as being the next Newcastle boss.
