Selling best players, keeping our worst, buying no one – Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley where are you?

I empathise with all those Newcastle fans who have decreed enough is enough – my lifelong love is now totally on ice.

The cold heart that beats in all our chests will never be restarted until Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley are no more.

Don’t get me wrong, I get the transfer policy which makes perfect sense, however sell on only buys will just not cut it every time.

Surely a quality player or two in the 24 to 28 age bracket is good, and another two in the 28 to 30 is fine, not all the young buys have proved themselves.

I also get the living within your means, we do not need to return to the Freddie Shepherd days where we were effectively bankrupt, selling our future incomes to pay present debts – scandalous practices. So the boy Ashley did good saving NUFC from oblivion but then he lost the plot, using our club as a vehicle to advertise Sports Direct. Saving himself a ton of money then accepting a mid-table position playing awful football managed by some really dumb mates appointments. Joe Kinnear , give us all a break, no ambition whatsoever.

Then there are our supporters, maybe a hardcore one thousand or so who almost from day one have hurled abuse at Mike Ashley, this has not helped one iota and the hate goes on.

One can understand his tough stance as no one deserves this but then we embrace the most loyal and honourable supporters who are a credit to NUFC, the thousands who travel away in rain, hail or shine. Travelling the length and breadth of the UK, the best bunch in the league bar none. They are magnificent and when added to some fifty thousand home supporters, boy what an atmosphere they generate – brilliant.

Mr Ashley has missed both the point and the heart of our club, so we will not move forward one inch more under his stewardship, so sad.

So what happens next?

Rafa has gone – another Charnley debacle, there is no plan B and no management staff of skill or substance left.

We are selling our best players, keeping our worst, buying no one, really we should be renamed Newcastle Rangers playing at the rancho del parko, we really are a cowboy outfit, sadly there is only one course of action left .

We the supporters can devalue NUFC by not buying our tickets, not going to games, not buying merchandise, basically let the club wither in value and stature.

Only then will Mike Ashley take action as he hates his pocket being picked.

Do we have the collective will and application, I leave it in your hands, is your conscience strong enough? I trust I am proved right.
