Newcastle United Season Ticket renewal warning sent out Wednesday: ‘Renewing for 2019/20 is easy’

If you have a Newcastle United Season Ticket and haven’t renewed, you will have received an email on Wednesday afternoon.

The club checking you haven’t forgotten…

I’m grateful for their concern (see below), saying that this is my/your last chance to guarantee existing seats.

The consequence being that if you don’t renew by the deadline day tomorrow (Thursday 4 July), your season ticket seats will be up for grabs on a first come first served basis.

Yes, I can’t begin to wonder just how big the queue will be of people desperate to get their hands/bum on my seat.

I particular like the inadvertent comedy line in the email, declaring that ‘Renewing for 2019/20 is easy’, if only that were the case.

I can think of plenty of reasons as to why it isn’t easy to renew…

Rafa Benitez forced out of the club.

All of the senior coaching staff leaving as well.

No manager in place with only five weeks until the season kicks off.

Not a single new signing.

No attempt made to keep last season’s player of the year, Salomon Rondon.

Last season’s top scorer, Ayoze Perez, set to be sold to Leicester for £30m.

Season ticket prices going up by 5%.

Honestly, I’m sitting here typing this and actually laughing out loud at just how outrageous the situation is.

To think, despite all the stresses and doubts for Newcastle United fans with the takeover rumours, the manager’s position, lack of signings and so on and so on…The only communications there have been from the club have been to tell me my season ticket is going up in price, that NUFC are charging more for the terrible new home strip than any other PL club is for their new one, plus that short statement to say they weren’t  keeping their respected manager, that NUFC statement even having the cheek to say about Rafa and his coaching staff  ‘their significant contribution to what has been collectively achieved’ – as though Mike Ashley, Justin Barnes, Lee Charnley and any other lurking parasites had played any part in survival on a shoestring these past couple of years.

So anyway, thanks for the email anyway, but I will just take my chance thanks very much on their still being some seats still available when something positive happens at this club.

Newcastle United Season Ticket renewal email – 3 July 2019:

‘There is still time to renew your Newcastle United season ticket.

Supporters who haven’t yet renewed have until Thursday 4 July to renew their existing seat before unsold seats are released for general sale.

Renewing for 2019/20 is easy.
