Newcastle United fans react to the issues facing the club – Especially Mike Ashley

The Mag was the first publication to give Newcastle United fans the chance to express themselves, the paper version launched in August 1988.

Now in 2019 it feels very much like another world, apart from of course the fact that 31 years on and talented individuals are still leaving Newcastle United due to a lack of ambition…

Not everybody wants to write a long/full article, so we have put together a number of so far unpublished contributions we have received this week, enjoy them below.

If you have anything at all to say about Newcastle United, please send it along, long or short, and it will be considered for publication as either an article or part of a selection of comments/shorter pieces (Please send to [email protected]).

By not boycotting, Ashley has won.

He is using the “Divide and Conquer” tactic that as worked so well in the past for others. Just think of the impact of an empty SJP!

The only way to beat the FCB is to be United in your approach. Sadly, that will never happen.

Will you still be buying your ticket when you playing in League One?

Ashley destroys every brand he buys. Look at Slazenger, Donnay, Dunlop, Karrimor etc.

My dad has been a true fan all his life, he used to tell me about the times when he and his mates used to follow them all over,
Wembley in the fifties, right up to the KK and SBR years and up to about 14 years back, when he became too ill, he then died 12 years ago.

I am just grateful he did not have to put up with this parasitic pond life and shower of sh..e that is going on up there now.
I remember my first game he took me to, Rotherham away, about 1967 I think, we won 1-0, before he died he gave me a box with a lot of programmes, rosettes from the 1950s FA Cup wins, newspaper cuttings, metal badges, all sorts of papers to do with the toon.

Also, a special edition to do with one of the greatest players to play for our team (Tony Green), a fantastic player who had his playing days cut short.

This box will probably end up on eBay, I am done with the way this ba..ard has treated all of us.

I am 64 years old and I think this ba..ard will still be here when I die.

PLEASE STOP GOING, DON’T GIVE HIM ANY MORE MONEY, no excuses, like it’s a family thing, or we get together for the day, you are killing our club. Thanks for reading this.

John Bruce

I want to support my team.

The players that we have need our support , already proven many times over many seasons.

So what do we do, we are urged not to go and support them because of an owner who is unfit to own a Football Club.

Unfit to own a Football Club we recognise this, so why does the governing body not recognise this .

Surely his last action in appointing Steve Bruce is his biggest mistake and must confirm the actions of an individual unfit to own a Football Club.

It is time for the FA to step in and put a stop to this man’s dealings, we know Steve Bruce resigned from his job only because Mike Ashley wanted him but football etiquette has not been followed.

Maybe it us time to lobby the FA to help us rid this person before he decides to knock down St.James Park and build a Shopping Mall.

Ian Aitken

The Newcastle v Arsenal game is not going ahead as 10,000 supporters are going to stop the Arsenal team getting into St James Park.

This is by far the only way to show the world the plight of Newcastle United.

All live tv matches will get the same treatment, Mike Ashley will have to pay back the TV money when live tv games at st james park are abandoned.

Extreme measures are now needed to remove the greedy selfish parasite which is Mike Ashley.

John Slocombe

Everyone is entitled to their opinion about how to stick it up Ashley.

Mine is go to the matches like we always do and support the Team but once there don’t buy food or drink or programmes.

This to me is a far better way for your voice to be heard, after all once ashley gets your ticket money (if you have a season ticket) what hurt will he feel – none.

But stop buying inside the ground on match days will hurt him more, also don’t apply for cup tickets, not that we get many anyway.

Terry Arkley

Now I know the reasons why a Villa fan threw a cabbage at Steve Bruce .

I definitely wouldn’t waste my cabbage nowadays on him.

If his attitude matches Ashley’s then that’s a bad match and he will be out the door quick if results aren’t good.

Stewart Smith

Ashley will destroy the best club in England, stay away and make a statement.

Simon Tait

It has now come to a real extreme in the way Mike Ashley is running NUFC, or should it be ruining.

It’s about time the Football Authorities got involved with the way he is handling our club for

His own interests only and showing contempt by his lies over the years for personal gain.

Let’s not forget the club belongs to the city of Newcastle and its supporters.

Ashley is just the Landlord.

The FA has a responsibility surely to protect all clubs from unscrupulous owners who use them as a cash cow for personal gain, with little
or no investment/interest where it should be for the betterment of its supporters and the city.
