New Newcastle United sleeve sponsor revealed in official statement
In 2017 we saw MRF become the Newcastle United sleeve sponsor.
Rule changes meant clubs could take on their own individual sleeve sponsor and Newcastle were one of a number of clubs that sported MRF.
At the time there was no mention by the club but it later transpired that it wasn’t Newcastle United who had sourced the sleeve sponsor, instead it was agency Sportquake who revealed they had sourced the deal.
After that one year deal ended with MRF, Newcastle United didn’t make any effort to try and find a replacement, so there was no sleeve sponsor last season.
The new Newcastle United sleeve sponsor sorted for the coming season is cryptocurrency platform StormGain.
In their announcement Mike Ashley’s people claim: ‘We are always looking to support the club’s development by pursuing new commercial opportunities…’, if only that was the case, rather than the overwhelming aim that is to promote Sports Direct for nothing.
The new sleeve sponsor state in the PR release that: ‘We share many core values with Newcastle United – effort, determination and the pursuit of success…’ Once again, we can only dream that will be the case in the future once Mike Ashley eventually sells.
