New Newcastle United away kit unveiled – Leaked images proved correct

The new Newcastle United away kit for the 2019/20 season has been unveiled.

Leaked images circulated earlier this year of what were claimed to be the three new kits and when the new home one was released in June (see below), it proved to be on the money.

This new away one has also matched up with the leaked images that were circulated.

The only difference being that the leaked images showed the away kit confirmed today by NUFC, as the third kit instead.

So guessing that the orange one that was leaked will end up being the third kit, unless the club surprise us.

This new dark green design will be worn for the first time when Newcastle play at Preston tomorrow in the friendly.

The Mag – 19 June 2019:

Over four months ago, there were leaked images claiming to be of the 2019/20 Newcastle United home shirt.

At the same times, images claiming to be the second and third tops were also circulated (see all three below).

Later images/photos all appeared to back them up, suggesting they were on the money.

Today (19 June 2019), Newcastle United have officially unveiled the new 2019/20 Newcastle United home shirt.

Sure enough, it is the same design as the four month old leaked image.

Amusingly, the club are now claiming that this new design pays homage  to the strip the NUFC wore when they won the Fairs Cup in 1969. I say amusing because I didn’t hear/see one Newcastle fan saying that about the leaked images!

The new kit is going on sale on Monday 1 July, the day after Rafa Benitez sees his contract end and three days before season ticket holders have their renewal deadline and the NUFC squad return for pre-season.

Form an orderly queue…

Newcastle United official announcement today:

Newcastle United has unveiled its brand new 2019/20 PUMA home kit, which pays tribute to the 50th anniversary of the club’s Inter-Cities Fairs Cup win.

Just like the black and white jersey proudly worn by the stars of 1969, the new home shirt will feature a familiar black round-neck collar with white trim, while a tonal crest will adorn the Magpies’ classic black and white stripes.

Below, the club’s primary partner, FUN88, will proudly feature across the front of adult shirts.

The kit will again feature black shorts, while traditional black and white turnover socks – as worn by Joe Harvey’s triumphant side – also make a return.

The Magpies marked the 50th anniversary of the successful Fairs Cup campaign just last week, with 11th June 1969 the date of a 3-2 win away in Hungary which gave United a 6-2 aggregate victory over Újpest Dósza in a two-legged final.’

No doubt a lot of Newcastle fans will be hoping the leaked second and third strip images don’t prove quite so accurate…

The Mag – 15 February 2019:

Leaked photos of the 2019/20 Newcastle United home shirt and away/third shirts have been published on Friday night.

As always with these things, up to you whether you believe the source/truth or not.

Every year you have leaked images doing the rounds before the official launch(es).

Sometime they prove to be on the money, other times not…

Just checking back in 2018, the first ‘leaked’ images for the 2018/19 (current) season, appeared in April 2018, so these ones are a couple of months ahead of the game if proving to be the reality.
