Hell has frozen over and Satan has risen…

The last few days at Newcastle United have been laughable, insane and just painfully predictable.

To say that Steve Bruce was a shock candidate is an understatement.

However, let’s put something into perspective.

If Steve Bruce gets the job, he faces having to turn a fanbase around in the face of unbelievable hostility. A small portion which is directed at him.

Nothing Bruce will do will alter the fact he is the latest in a list of yes men to do Sports Direct’s bidding. He is not the enemy, he is part of a problem.

If Bruce flukes a 13th place finish, cue Sky and other outlets ramming down our throats that he did as good a job as Rafa.

What Rafa did in the face of relegation, was unite a fanbase, team and city. We became, albeit briefly, United.

Bruce has already, before even signing a contract, sold his soul (again).

Never mind the Sunderland connection, I still can’t get past his Man Utd connection. He will not be able to unite the club.

He is being touted for the job as being able to “get on with Mike Ashley“. In what insane world is that a reason to employ someone other than to quote the party line!?

The club has now become Sports Direct Advertising FC.

The profits creamed and hidden under creative accounting techniques. No prospective buyer will ever agree to the terms that give his company preferential advertising.

And behold a red and blue horse and his name that sat on him, was death. And hell followed with him…

The club is dead.
