Who should replace Rafa Benitez as the new Newcastle United manager? Vote now

The question we are asking today is: ‘Who should replace Rafa Benitez as the new Newcastle United manager?’

Monday brought that brief statement from the club/Mike Ashley informing us that Rafa wouldn’t be staying on after Sunday.

His three year contract coming to end on the 30 June and no agreement having been reached for a new deal.

The media has been full of names, to a ridiculous degree, all the newspapers claiming exclusives on different candidates that Newcastle are supposedly interested in, or focusing on supposed individuals who are interested in the impending vacancy.

We have give three options in the poll below as to what most closely matches your opinion:

Is it best for NUFC to appoint an older manager with experience of the Premier League?

Or is the best course to bring in a young up and coming manager with potential?

Alternatively, is your view that you don’t care because so long as Mike Ashley owns Newcastle United it doesn’t matter who the manager is?

Please vote below.

That official Newcastle United Statement – 24 June 2019:

‘It is with disappointment that we announce manager Rafael Benítez will leave Newcastle United upon the expiry of his contract on 30th June 2019.

We have worked hard to extend Rafa’s contract over a significant period of time, however it has not been – and will not be – possible to reach an agreement with Rafa and his representatives.

Rafa’s coaching staff, Paco de Míguel Moreno, Antonio Gómez Pérez and Mikel Antia, will also leave the club on 30th June.

We would like to thank Rafa and his coaching team for their efforts over the last three years and their significant contribution to what has been collectively achieved.’
