Transfer Rumours

Reported Ayoze Perez ‘Would jump at the chance’ to join Arsenal

Ayoze Perez is a target for Arsenal according to a report on Tuesday.

Set to turn 26 next month, the striker has been linked with any number of clubs after giving interviews indicating he could move on this summer.

The striker has previously been linked with a move to Tottenham and now neighbours Arsenal, although the player himself has said he wants to play in La Liga some day.

It is Football.London (part of the same company who own the Chronicle) who are saying Ayoze Perez ‘Would jump at the chance to join the North London giants’ despite them not being able to offer Champions League football.

They claim he could be bought for between £10m and £15m but with six goals in the final five Premier League games of the season, Perez ended up with his best ever figures, 12 goals and two assists in the league last season.

This follows seven PL goals and no assists in 2014/15, six goals and two assists in the PL in 2015/16, then eight PL goals and five assists in 2017/18.

The Football.London report is a bit slack with the facts, getting the number of goals last season (claiming 11 instead of 12 in the PL).

Whilst they have also fabricated an award, claiming Ayoze Perez was ‘young  Spanish player of the year’ once upon a time. whereas the reality is that after scoring 16 goals for Tenerife in 2013/14 and getting is move to Newcastle, Perez was named ‘Breakthrough Player in the 2013–14 Spanish second tier’ and ‘Best Attacking Midfielder in the 2013–14 Spanish second tier’.

Ayoze Perez is just one of the many people/issues that there are question marks over at Newcastle United this summer.

Football.London report:

‘…Newcastle United’s Perez is said to be interesting the Gunners.

The 25-year-old former Tenerife midfielder has been starring for a mediocre St James’ Park outfit this term with 11 goals in 36 games with two assists.

Priced at around £10m-£15m the former young Spanish player of the year could shine for Emery.

Would jump at the chance to join the North London giants.

Do Arsenal need Champions League to sign him?
