Overwhelming result as fans asked would Rafa Benitez sign new Mike Ashley contract if no takeover?

On Monday morning we asked Newcastle fans the question: ‘If no change of ownership would Rafa Benitez sign new Mike Ashley contract?’

The whole future of the club is up in the air.

Newcastle fans still with no idea on who will own the club or manage the team come August.

For once, concerns about player recruitment pushed back into third place for the time being.

If ambitious new owners did replace Mike Ashley, it looks to be an obvious move for them to then do everything they can to convince Rafa Benitez (pictured above when signing his current three year contract back in 2016) that he should stay on and try to take the team/club on an upward curve once again.

However, what if there is no takeover, for whatever reason?

Do Newcastle fan believe that if Mike Ashley remains in control for a thirteenth season at St James Park, Rafa Benitez will be offered a suitable new contract that he is willing to sign?

An overwhelming result as with the votes counted:

16% Yes Rafa would sign a new Mike Ashley contract

84% No Rafa wouldn’t sign a new Mike Ashley contract

Newcastle fans seeing this summer as an all or nothing scenario.

Either new ambitious owners and Rafa Benitez almost certainly staying on as manager, or else Mike Ashley staying in control and no Rafa.

What a crossroads for the club and supporters.

One direction marked hope and the other disaster.
