‘Will Newcastle have a new owner when 2019/20 season kicks off?’ – Very interesting fan vote result

The question we were asking on Thursday was ‘Will Newcastle United have a new owner when the 2019/20 season kicks off?’

These past few days have been overwhelming.

The endless claims, statements and speculation since Sunday night when the potential for a Newcastle United takeover first went public.

This is how we laid out the debate…

So what are the chances?

The Bin Zayed Group making a number of statements on the alleged progress of the takeover.

Newcastle United/Mike Ashley refusing to make any comment.

Whilst the Premier League have also refused to comment on how far along, if at all, a Newcastle United takeover is, stating that it is up to the football club to give news of whether a takeover is or isn’t happening.

Is this takeover any different to what has gone before?

Mike Ashley having first claimed in September 2008 that he was definitely selling Newcastle United as soon as possible.

Any number of supposed near misses having happened since then.

Is this one going to be any different?

In our snap poll a total of 2,306 Newcastle fans voted:

Yes Mike Ashley will have sold NUFC by 10 August – 1,083 46.96%

No Mike Ashley won’t have sold NUFC by 10 August – 1,223 53.04% 53.04%

So basically, almost too close to call.

Despite all of the speculation/claims, still 53% of the Newcastle fans who voted believing we will still be stuck with Mike Ashley when the season kicks off in August.

Hopefully, we will see that position dramatically change in the coming days…
