The end of season play-offs are here.

The dates and times now confirmed for the Championship, League One and League Two.

The play-offs are a time of high stress for those involved but if you are a neutral with a fringe interest, then great entertainment.

I can’t see any Newcastle connection in League Two but the Championship and League One look promising.

Shay Given is goalkeeping coach at Derby County but it is West Brom who will be the main focus for Newcastle fans.

Dwight Gayle will play a leading role for the Baggies whilst Jacob Murphy could play a part as well.

They would be my choice to go up, as I’m not a great fan of Villa or Leeds, whilst Derby I have absolutely no opinion on.

League One of course is the main attraction.

Only two years since they were telling us that Newcastle not winning the Championship more easily was in fact a failure, after consecutive rock bottom relegations, Sunderland find themselves finishing fifth in the third tier!

In their semi-final of the play-offs, the mackems are home to Portsmouth on Saturday (11 May) night, then away on the following Thursday (16 May) night.

No announcements yet but I’m assuming they will be live on Sky Sports.
