Report claims Tottenham bid for Ayoze Perez is £2m below his release clause – Very dubious
Ayoze Perez is the subject of transfer claims on Monday afternoon.
The past 24 hours have seen transfer claims take a back seat as Newcastle fans instead have seen update after update on the speculated bid to buy the football club.
The Sun having sparked a frenzy, when claiming late on Sunday that Mike Ashley had agreed to sell Newcastle United to Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nahyan for £350m.
The Ayoze Perez transfer report/claim comes from CalcioNapoli24 in Italy.
Their report says that Cristiano Giuntoli, the Director of Football at Napoli, has a keen interest in the Newcastle striker but is holding back for the time being on making an official offer for Perez.
CalcioNapoli24 claim that the 25 year old forward’s preference is a move to Serie A and that he is confident he could score over 20 goals a season if he makes a move to the Italian top tier. It is not exactly clear how they supposedly have got such a clear insight on the Newcastle player’s thinking.
It all sounds a bit dubious, as they also report that Ayoze Perez has a 30m euros (£26.5m) release clause, which nobody has ever mentioned before…
Whilst Napoli are yet to make a bid, they reckon that Tottenham have done so, claiming a 28m euros (£24.7m) bid has been made by Spurs to Newcastle for Ayoze Perez.
