How do Chelsea fans keep getting away with it yet Newcastle fans are treated so differently?

Chelsea fans lead a charmed life.

You would almost think they held a privileged position with the media, along with pretty much all supporters of major London clubs.

Newcastle fans are regularly held up for ridicule by any number of journalists and media/newspapers, claims of being too demanding, deluded, over the top expectations, treating managers/owners harshly.

Yet different rules apply elsewhere…

Nowhere more so that at Stamford Bridge.

I have seen any number of articles today that say Maurizio Sarri is a dead man walking, that no matter what happens in Baku tonight, he will be sacked.

The overwhelming reason cited is that Sarri will have to go because Chelsea fans want him out.

This is a manager who has only been in the job 10 months and has already delivered third place in the Premier League and Champions League qualification, losing finalists in the League Cup to all conquering Man City AND who in a few hours time are favourites to be Europa League winners.

Despite all of that, criticism of Chelsea fans and their ridiculous over the top abuse of this manager is almost non-existent.

Imagine if this was Newcastle fans going on that like that about such a ‘shocking’ 10 months from their manager.

The thing is, they do it time after time, yet the media refuse to say what everybody else is thinking/saying.

Rafa Benitez was there for only six months and also delivered third in PL and also won the Europa League yet Chelsea fans relentlessly gave him abuse.

Antonio Conte was driven out by Chelsea fans despite winning the FA Cup in 2018 AND the Premier League only 12 months earlier.

Jose Mourinho was fabulously successful in his first spell at Stamford Bridge, then came back, yet only seven months after winning the Premier League yet again for them, the Chelsea fans turned on the manager and got him out in December 2015.

It is time after time that it happens with them, yet the press turn a blind eye.

Newcastle supporters say that they think their club should be capable of competing to finish top eight and then get stick off so many in the media.

For once I think I have no choice but to want Arsenal to win…
