Two former Newcastle United stars fire Magpies to Premier League safety on Sunday

Two former Newcastle stars have ensured Newcastle United will play in the Premier League in 2019/20.

A collector’s item as the Gini Wijanldum scored only his second Premier League goal away from home, in just under four years in England.

A 57th minute strike giving Liverpool the lead at Cardiff.

One-time NUFC winger James Milner then making sure with a penalty on 81 minutes.

The win puts Liverpool back clear at the top of the Premier League on 88 points, two clear of Man City, although Pep Guardiola’s side have a game in hand

More importantly, it means Newcastle United are now mathematically safe. Cardiff are now 10 points behind the Magpies but with only three games to play.
