Saturday Premier League results keep Newcastle fans smiling

The Premier League results have been kind/confirmatory for Newcastle fans on Saturday.

After an excellent performance  and win at Leicester on Friday night, other PL clubs have helped NUFC supporters enjoy the weekend even more.

Cardiff City lost 2-0 at Burnley, which surely ensures their relegation.

Certainly Newcastle should be able to breathe easy now, as they are 10 points clear of Cardiff with a massive (24 goals) advantage in goala difference.

Cardiff’s remaining games are Brighton (A), Liverpool (H), Fulham (A), Palace (H), Man Utd (A).

Even if Newcastle didn’t get another point, to get ahead of the Magpies the Welsh club would probably have to beat Brighton, Fulham and Palace, then also beat either Liverpool at home or Man Utd away.

The bookies now make Cardiff 1/33 to fill the last relegation spot and Newcastle 325/1.

Only Brighton (priced at 14/1 to go down) look possibilities to be caught by Cardiff, they were hammered 5-0 at home by Bournemouth and Chris Hughton’s men now find themselves 17th, five points ahead of Cardiff and three points off 16th placed Southampton.

On Tuesday night Brighton host Cardiff and the Welsh club surely need to win that to stand a chance.
