Premier League Live TV games – How many times every club chosen and Newcastle United stand out
Premier League Live TV games, who has been chosen most this season.
Friday saw the latest set of live TV games announced.
The latest choices mean that we now know all of the Premier League Live TV games selected this season, apart from the three on the final day of the season.
On Friday, Newcastle v Liverpool was predictably selected. However, when it comes to the final day of the season, unless Newcastle could get relegated, the game at Fulham won’t be chosen.
With 37 rounds of matches known, this is how many times each Premier League club has been chosen for live TV this season:
27 Man Utd
25 Man City
19 Newcastle United
16 West Ham
12 Crystal Palace
Every Premier League club is *supposed* to be shown live on UK TV at least 10 times each season. Every season, several aren't. This is one of the (more minor) reasons underpinning growing inequity of resources and a chasm in competitiveness, top to bottom pic.twitter.com/oW7soIN0mD

No real surprises at the very top with the ‘big six’ selected the most times.
However, yet again the big anomaly is Newcastle United, yet again the position in this table totally at odds with their position in the Premier League.
So why is a club that is currently 15th in the table and fighting relegation, chosen more than any other PL club outside the top six?
The TV companies are only bothered about money and numbers of viewers.
They choose Newcastle United because our club has a lot of fans and due to neutrals taking an interest.
This isn’t just a one-off, as season after season Newcastle are picked far more often than their performances on the pitch or league placings merit.
Newcastle United, a nothing club that nobody cares about…?
