The results of the Newcastle v Leicester player ratings by fans.

Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

A game where Newcastle gave a very disciplined performance with also a cutting edge, against in-form opponents who had won their last four games.

Newcastle fans have picked out Ayoze Perez (8.5) as their NUFC man of the match. The striker scoring an excellent header to win the game and a very decent display overall.

Three others scored 8.0 or higher.

Fabian Schar (8.1) was once again Newcastle’s best man at the back and yet again very good on the ball, bringing the ball out of defence.

Meanwhile Matt Ritchie (8.1) was really on his game in both defence and attack, getting an assist when Perez put away his very good delivery.

So unlucky with his stunning free-kick that hit the woodwork, Salomon Rondon (8.0) put in another excellent main striker performance, might be a good idea to buy him…

Only two of the starting eleven rated below 7.0.

Javier Manquillo (6.9) unlucky I think to dip under, as he generally did very well on the night.

Likewise, Ki Sung-yeung (6.4) was a lot better than last week’s efforts against Palace and kept Newcastle moving, unlucky to be rated so low I think. Probably a night where the team effort meant all the team deserved at least 7.0 or higher.

The other five players did rate above 7.0, with Isaac Hayden (7.4) the highest of the quintet. Did very well in the middle of the pitch, protecting the defence and helping to move it forward.

A trio of players rated 7.3, with Martin Dubravka dealing with a couple of relatively tricky shots and taking crosses well, whilst Jamaal Lascelles had a solid game at the back and Miguel Almiron was full of running that helped to get the opposition defence unsettled.

Paul Dummett (7.2) put in a typical solid defensive display but didn’t get forward very much at all.

Below are the ratings as voted by Newcastle fans up to 7.30pm Sunday:
