Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.
A game where Newcastle looked the more likely winners the vast majority of the 90 minutes, only to be left pointless and a first defeat at home in over three months.
Newcastle fans have picked out Miguel Almiron (6.5) as their NUFC man of the match.
Not a high score but he never stopped trying and let down by many of those around him not on his wavelength and speed of feet and thought.
Only three other players scored 6.0 or better.
Florian Lejeune (6.1) playing well until so unlucky with what looks another serious freak injury that forced him off after 65 minutes.
Palace only had one effort on target but Martin Dubravka (6.0) did everything asked of him, taking crosses well and could do nothing to stop the well struck penalty.
Isaac Hayden (6.0) is the other with a credible rating, helped Newcastle to control the middle of the pitch but like most of his teammates was lacking in creativity.
At the other end of the spectrum, Newcastle fans rated three players less than 5.0.
At the very bottom is DeAndre Yedlin (3.4), the wing-back totally lacking quality with his numerous chances to put the ball in the box, then giving away the clumsy penalty.
Ayoze Perez (4.5) once again back to his ineffective worst, a few decent touches in the middle of the pitch but in and around the box was minimal threat.
Ki Sung-Yeung (4.6) is another who failed to make an impact, Newcastle played most of the game in the opposition half but the midfielder created next to nothing.
The other four starters rated in the 5.somethings.
Fabian Schar (5.8) the best of the quartet as he did ok defensively but a mixed bag going forward, some wayward passing but much better when carrying the ball out of defence.
Matt Ritchie (5.6) had plenty of effort but little went right, generally poor delivery on set-pieces and in open play.
Jamaal Lascelles (5.3) put in an ok shift but as often happens in these type of games where Newcastle have more of the ball, his lack of ability on the ball is a negative.
Salomon Rondon (5.0) produced a decent leading the line performance though heavily outnumbered most of the time BUT missed the best chances to win the game.
