Newcastle United reserves match surprisingly sells out
Not often you hear about a Newcastle United reserves match selling out.
However, that is the case on Tuesday night.
The NUFC Under 23s (reserves) travel to play Leeds United and all tickets have been sold.
The match sees Newcastle United take on Leeds in the semi final of the Premier League Cup.
The game is at Guiseley AFC’s Nethermoor Park and over 2,500 fans will be there in the capacity crowd.
In an official announcement, Leeds United have warned fans not to travel as they won’t be able to pay in on the night.
It is a 7pm kick-off tomorrow night and with no replays, it will be decided on the night.
The winners will face Swansea, Everton or Blackburn in the final, the latter two clubs having to sort out a delayed quarter-final first, that game also on Tuesday night.
The Newcastle United reserves then play away at Middlesbrough on Sunday to complete their normal league season. However, they will then have end of season play-offs that they have already qualified for, with the chance of playing in the top division of the reserve set-up.
Leeds United official announcement:
‘Over 2,500 tickets sold for the U23s clash on Tuesday night at Nethermoor Park
Leeds United fans continued to show their fantastic support for the U23s this week, after the Premier League Cup semi-final clash against Newcastle United sold out.
Having hosted several U23s fixtures this season, including the exciting penalty shootout against Fulham, local side Guiseley AFC’s Nethermoor Park is the chosen venue for Tuesday night’s encounter, which kicks off at 7pm.
Fans are advised that there will not be any additional sales on the day, and not to turn up unless you have a ticket. Gates will be open from 5:30pm, and supporters should arrive as early as possible to ease congestion at the turnstiles.’
