Date and time of Newcastle v Liverpool set to be decided in next few hours
Newcastle v Liverpool was scheduled for 3pm on Saturday 4 May.
Then just under two weeks ago the last Premier League live TV games announcement saw it rescheduled to 4.30pm on Sunday 5 May.
However, this is dependent on Liverpool’s Champions League involvement.
If Liverpool get through their quarter-final against Porto, they would then play the semi-final first leg on Tuesday 7 May.
Which would then mean the Newcastle v Liverpool match being almost certainly pulled back to the Saturday, with another TV slot found.
The second leg against Porto is tonight (Wednesday 17 April) with Liverpool travelling to Portugal with a 2-0 lead from the first leg at Anfield.
Newcastle fans set to find out just over two weeks before the Liverpool game as to when it will definitely be played.
On that weekend, the live TV games announced are:
Friday 3 May
Everton v Burnley (8pm)
Saturday 4 May
Man City v Leicester (12.30pm)
Cardiff v Crystal Palace (5.30pm)
Sunday 5 May
Huddersfield v Man Utd (2pm)
Newcastle v Liverpool (4.30pm)
Monday 6 May
Bournemouth v Tottenham
If indeed Liverpool do go through tonight to the Champions League semi-finals and then have a CL semi-final first leg on Tuesday 7 May, it looks very likely that Newcastle v Liverpool would then end up in a 7.45pm live TV slot on Saturday 4 May.
I’ll be watching with interest tonight…
