Club give Thursday morning update on Newcastle v Crystal Palace ticket sales
Thursday morning has seen an update on ticket sales for Newcastle v Crystal Palace.
The previous game at St James Park had seen Newcastle almost sell out for the Everton match when NUFC made it five home PL wins in a row, Man Utd the only game so far this season when St James Park has been sold out.
When Newcastle made it four home wins in a row against Burnley in the game before, it attracted the lowest crowd (48,323) of the season so far.
This morning Newcastle United have put out the following ticket update, saying ‘Good morning! A very limited number of tickets remain for Saturday’s home game against Crystal Palace.’
In a number of other previous Premier League matches this season the club have used the ‘very limited number of tickets remain’, only for in actual fact there to be a few thousand still unsold.
However, on this occasion they are telling the truth, as a look on the official Newcastle United ticketing site shows less than 500 tickets remain on sale.
This includes selling tickets normally reserved for away supporters, as Crystal Palace took a reduced allocation. Despite giving their fans free coach travel to Newcastle, Crystal Palace have confirmed they have an unspecified number of tickets of that reduced away allocation still unsold.
A decent effort by Newcastle fans with around 50,000 home fans set to be inside St James Park on Saturday.
A combination of a Saturday kick-off, four weeks without a game at St James Park, and the chance to make it six home victories at home in the Premier League, helping towards what looks to be a rare home sellout, with Mike Ashley’s running of the club having driven so many fans away.
The Premier League crowds so far at St James Park this season have been:
51,749 v Tottenham
51,791 v Chelsea
52,165 v Arsenal
51,523 v Leicester
50,329 v Brighton
49,157 v Watford
49,266 v Bournemouth
51,853 v West Ham
50,223 v Wolves
51,237 v Fulham
52,217 v Man Utd
49,864 v Cardiff
52,174 v Huddersfield
48,323 v Burnley
52,242 v Everton
