Your chance to help Wor Flags create the biggest flag football fans in the UK have ever seen
The 2018/2019 season is one that for many will epitomise Newcastle United’s existence: The Rollercoaster Club.
We’ve experienced the lows of losing to fellow relegation rivals and the lingering war with the club’s current custodian.
On the other hand, we’ve enjoyed the dedicated, organised and enthusiastic performances that saw us beat the current Premier League champions, led by our truly world class manager.
However, when all is said and done at the end of another rollercoaster season, there’s one thing that will remain – it’s support.
That’s why Wor Flags are looking to create something that will pay testament to what really makes a club, a club.
In the words of Sir Bobby Robson:
“…it’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.”
So, how about clambering up stadium steps to the sight of a Black and White clad Gallowgate. This time, that really does mean the WHOLE Gallowgate.
Wor Flags are currently fundraising to create the largest surfer flag that the UK has ever seen.
If enough money is raised, that will mean one that fills the whole of the Gallowgate stand. Adorned with iconic sights from across our city and region, this will be a sight to remember.
Not only that, but every one of those who donate to fund the flag will have their name featured within the design – a small nod to the fans who make all of the flags displays possible.
From Asprilla’s goals versus Barcelona, to Tiote’s rocket of defiance that completed the courageous comeback vs Arsenal, or any of Shearer’s countless efforts, the Gallowgate End has been home to some defining moments in our club’s history.
Wor Flags, with the help of some incredible support, hope to be able to add to that history.
