Sheffield Wednesday boss declaring after the game: ‘Rolando has had a real big impact on us and it capped off a memorable night for him. I thought he was terrific…’

The 2-0 victory at Bolton takes the Owls to within three points of the play-off positions.

Bruce also keen to praise Aarons’ attitude: ‘I’m delighted for him because he’s a really, really good kid. All this nonsense written about him, I have not seen it. He has done great since he walked through the door.’

Rolando Aarons is now unbeaten in eight first team appearances, four wins and four draws.

There are ten minutes of highlights below but the Newcastle winger’s excellent finish is at 6.10, whilst a couple of impressive runs that end with chances created for others are at 5.54 and 7.30.

Steve Bruce talking about Rolando Aarons impressing and scoring on Tuesday night:

“Rolando has had a real big impact on us and it capped off a memorable night for him.

“I thought he was terrific, in particular in the second half.

“His career seemed to have fallen off the cliff a little bit.

“So you blow him a little bit of confidence, put an arm around his shoulder, remind him what a good player he was.

“Which I remember when he first burst onto the scene.

“I’m delighted because he’s given us something we haven’t got, he has got a little trick, he’s quick, and he’s energetic and young.

“I’m delighted for him because he’s a really, really good kid.

“All this nonsense written about him, I have not seen it.

“He has done great since he walked through the door.”
