Peter Beardsley now releases official statement via solicitors in response to Newcastle United statement

A very strange official club statement was released by Newcastle United (see below) with regard to Peter Beardsley on Wednesday lunchtime.

The former playing having been on ‘gardening leave’ for the past 14 months, this followed a club investigation starting into allegations of racism and bullying.

Over 14 months on and Newcastle United today released a statement simply saying that Peter Beardsley is no longer employed by the club.

Only minutes after that official NUFC statement, Peter Bearrdsley has released his own, just as brief, official statement.

His legal representatives, Farleys Solicitors, ave released the statement on Beardsley’s behalf.

The now former coach confirming his departure from Newcastle United..

However, still neither side releasing any outcome with regard to the investigation.

This is beyond madness after 14 months, surely the club don’t think that it can be left hanging like this.

At the very least the players who made the complaints need to know what the outcome of the investigation is, as indeed the Newcastle fans also have a right to know.

Peter Beardsley official statement released via his legal representatives:

“The time is now right for me to seek a new challenge and I wish the players all the best and the supporters the success they deserve.

“I have always honoured my contractual obligations of confidentiality to the Club and maintained my silence, which has in itself been very difficult.

“I am incredibly grateful for the tremendous support I have received and I look forward to the future.”

Newcastle United official statement:

“Newcastle United can confirm that Peter Beardsley is no longer employed by the club.

“We are grateful for the contribution Peter has given over the years as a player, coach and ambassador and we wish him well for the future.

“The club will make no further comment at this time.”
