Official Newcastle United announcement – Cancel Elias Sorensen loan and 2 others after clubs waste their time
Elias Sorensen is back at St James Park.
On Wednesday afternoon, Newcastle United announced (see below) that they had cancelled his loan spell at Blackpool.
Doing the same with winger Callum Roberts and full-back Jamie Sterry.
Colchester United and Crewe Alexandra, along with Blackpool, have wasted everybody’s time.
Stalling the progress of NUFC’s young players, rather than enhancing it.
Elias Sorensen made no first team starts and only 32 minutes as a sub, Jamie Sterry one start, whilst Callum Roberts had no starts and 37 minutes off the bench.

‘Newcastle United youngsters Elias Sørensen, Jamie Sterry and Cal Roberts have returned to St. James’ Park from their respective loan spells with Blackpool, Crewe Alexandra and Colchester United.
The trio will rejoin the Magpies’ under-23s group for the remainder of the season.
Sørensen, 19, scored 19 goals for United’s second-string before heading to Bloomfield Road in January while 21-year-old Roberts scored 13 times and claimed several assists ahead of his move to the JobServe Community Stadium. He also scored for Newcastle’s first team against Blackburn in the Emirates FA Cup.
Right-back Sterry, 23, has made three first team appearances under Rafa Benítez this term and had rejoined Crewe for a second spell after spending part of last season at Gresty Road.
All three could play for Ben Dawson’s under-23s at Reading in the Premier League Cup on Friday.’
