The results of the Newcastle v Bournemouth player ratings by fans.

Each player marked out of 10 and the averages below.

Two players joint clear at the top.

Salomon Rondon (8.0) probably an obvious choice for both Newcastle fans and neutrals having capped another good performance with that cracking free-kick.

Also on 8.0 is Paul Dummett, captain on the day and the one defender who enhanced his reputation.

Only one other player managed to get 7.0 or higher and that was Matt Ritchie (7.6), worked hard and kept going to the very last second, getting is reward with that stunning volleyed equaliser.

At the other end of the spectrum we had Federico Fernandez (5.0) and Mohamed Diame (5.4), two players coming back into the team after three months and almost three months without Premier League starts.

Fernandez was arguably Newcastle’s best player before new year but looked rusty and out of sorts, the penalty was a joke decision but it was poor play to lay his arm on the player and give Mike Dean the opportunity.

Ki was poor when coming in against Everton and Diame arguably worse on Saturday, a lot of fans had wanted Shelvey to get his chance and that will have only increased after this Bournemouth game.

The other six starters all got 6.something and were poor to average.

At the better end of things you had Hayden (6.7) putting in a tidy shift in the middle of the pitch, whilst Almiron (6.7) is showing all the willing in the world as he tries to quickly adapt, an excellent run the length of the pitch won the free-kick that Rondon scored from.

At the more disappointing end of the 6.somethings, Ayoze Perez (6.1) was anonymous at best, rarely involved.

DeAndre Yedlin (6.2) wasn’t great at the back, whilst Martin Dubravka (6.2) only faced three shots on target, though he could do little with either of the two of the three that ended up in the back of his net.

Florian Lejeune (6.3) completes the 11 starters, probably not helped by so many changes at the back, with Lascelles and Schar unavailable.

Of the subs, Jonjo Shelvey (6.4) once again impressed off the bench, plus Christian Atsu (6.1) did ok. As for Muto (5.3) I don’t think I can remember him touching the ball.
