Newcastle United star wins Match of The Day goal of the month award
The winner of the Match of The Day February goal of the month award has been revealed.
Six goals were nominated and fans asked to vote online.
The vote closing at 11.20pm on Sunday (3 March) night.
Not that they are predictable or anything…but five of the six goals fans were asked to choose from, came from ‘big six’ clubs.
The exception being Fabian Schar.
The Newcastle defender coming out on top though, 32% of votes picked his thunderbolt against Burnley last Tuesday.
Next highest was 24% going for Anthony Martial’s goal for Man Utd against Fulham.
Little consolation for Fabian Schar of course, as this award comes only 24 hours after he had one of his worst game for Newcastle, losing Declan Rice and allowing him a free header to score the West Ham opener.
Match of The Day February goal of the month final vote:
2% Sergio Aguero – Manchester City v Arsenal – Saturday 3 February
24% Anthony Martial – Fulham v Manchester United – Saturday 9 February
4% Mohamed Salah – Liverpool v Bournemouth – Saturday 9 February
15% Sergio Aguero – Manchester City v Chelsea – Sunday 10 February
32% Fabian Schar – Newcastle v Burnley – Tuesday 26 February
23% Sadio Mane – Liverpool v Watford – Wednesday 27 February
