Newcastle United get home draw in last eight of Premier League Cup

The draw for the last eight of the Premier League Cup has been made.

Newcastle United have drawn Derby County to play for a spot in the semi-finals.

Newcastle’s young stars are set to play the match sometime between Friday 29 March and Monday 1 April.

With home advantage, hopefully the club will allow the NUFC Under 23s to play the game at St James Park.

The full quarter-final draw of the Premier League Cup:

Burnley v Leeds

Everton or Sunderland v Blackburn

Newcastle United v Derby

Nottingham Forest v Swansea

Newcastle United official announcement:

Newcastle United Under-23s have been handed a home draw against Derby County in the quarter-finals of the Premier League Cup.

Ben Dawson’s side sealed their spot in the last eight courtesy of a 2-1 victory against Reading, with United’s Jamie Sterry and Tom Allan both finding the target in their last 16 tie at Woking’s Kingfield Stadium.

United’s reward is a home encounter against the Rams, who currently lie in third place of Division One in Premier League 2 – one tier above Newcastle’s youngsters.

The cup clash is set to be played between Friday, 29th March and Monday, 1st April as the young Magpies aim to reach the semi-finals of the competition for the first time.
