Miguel Almiron gets called up by Paraguay
Miguel Almiron has been called up by his national side.
The 25 year old record Newcastle United signing is still looking for his first international goal after 14 senior appearances so far.
Paraguay are playing two friendlies and with the games taking place in North America, flights there and back should be straightforward.
Newcastle play Bournemouth away at 3pm on Saturday 16 March ahead of the international break.
Then the next match was moved for TV, meaning Newcastle fans have been landed with an away game at Arsenal which kicks off at 8pm on a Monday night (1 April).
Friday 22 March
Paraguay v Peru
Red Bull Arena (Harrison, New Jersey)
Kick-off 8pm local time
Tuesday 26 March
Paraguay v Mexico
Levi’s Stadium (Santa Clara, California)
Kick-off 7pm local time
The extra two days due to the Arsenal match being moved should mean there aren’t any issues regarding Miguel Almiron being fine for that game at The Emirates, barring injury of course.
The Mexico game will see Almiron meet up again with Tata Martino, who was his manager at Atlanta United and who left the MLS to take over the Mexico national job.

Only one other Premier League player is named in the 23 man Paraguay squad, although defender Fabian Balbuena wasn’t in the 18 man West Ham matchday squad on Saturday.
