Fabian Schar reacts after beating Aguero and Rashford to Premier League goal of the month award
Fabian Schar has been outstanding for Newcastle United this season.
It took a while for him to get a proper chance but since he has become established in the starting eleven, the defender has proved a real asset.
In the 17 games Fabian Schar has featured in, Newcastle have gained 28 points. In the 12 matches where he hasn’t played, NUFC have picked up a measly three points.
His passing has also been a feature of the defender’s game and now he is adding goals.
The two against Cardiff set Newcastle off on their current good form, whilst the stunner against Burnley was awesome.
That 30 yarder against Burnley as now been confirmed as February’s Premier League Goal of the Month after a public vote.
Schar’s stunner beat seven others including goals from Aguero, Wijnaldum, Rashford, Mane and Martial.
Fabian Schar telling the official Premier League site:
“It’s special for me.
“I’ve never won a trophy like this and probably it will be my last one, but it’s nice to score a goal like this.
“After the game I saw the video and you hear when it hit the post.
“It’s a special sound.
“These goals always look good.
“You don’t think too much about things.
“You just do what’s in your mind, and in these five or 10 seconds everything goes good.
“I saw some videos from the fans, a video from Alan Shearer [celebrating].
“It’s really nice to see the people going crazy like this.
“I love the Newcastle fans and all the people in the stadium so it’s crazy to get a goal like this when you play at home.”
