Clean sheet and win for Dubravka but not such good news for DeAndre Yedlin with USMNT experiment

DeAndre Yedlin and Martin Dubravka were both on international duty last night.

Another successful night for the Newcastle goalkeeper as Dubravka kept his latest clean sheet.

Helping Slovakia to a 2-0 victory over Hungary in a European Championship qualifier.

This followed Paul Dummett playing 61 minutes on Wednesday night as he made a third start for Wales in a 1-0 friendly win over Trinidad and Tobago.

Elsewhere, DeAndre Yedlin picked up his 58th international cap as the USA beat Ecuador 1-0 in a friendly.

However, the Newcastle United defender only played the final 22 minutes and that was as a right winger, where he didn’t make much of a contribution.

The USA coach Gregg Berhalter, decided to experiment and play talented young midfielder Tyler Adams at right back.

The 20 year old RB Leipzig midfielder proved to be one the of the best players on the night, possibly man of the match.

Whether this proves a one-off experiment or not, Yedlin’s position maybe isn’t as assured as it was previously.

The USA won the game with minutes remaining, Zardes scoring a fortunate winner.
