Christian Atsu honoured to lift the Cyrille Regis Players Award
The Cyrille Regis Players Award has been presented to Christian Atsu.
The Newcastle United player recognised for his ceaseless charity work helping those less fortunate.
The award was presented by the Football Black List, an organisation celebrating and highlighting role models from the black community who are working in football.
The likes of Chris Hughton and Les Ferdinand have also been recognised in the Football Black List awards in the past.
On receiving the award, Christian Atsu:
“I feel very honoured to receive this Cyrille Regis Players Award from the Football BlackList for my work with Arms Around The Child.
“Thanks to everyone involved for your continued support and for recognizing the work we are all trying to do in Ghana.”
Through his Arms Around The Child charity, the NUFC player helps individuals, orphanages and schools back in his native Ghana.
This season, Atsu has made 26 Newcastle United appearances, including 22 in the Premier League.
