No sign of Atlanta United fans interest fading in Miguel Almiron and Newcastle United.

Many of their supporters adopting the Magpies as their second team and desperate for both their former player and new club to succeed.

The interest has also been boosted/helped by the newly enhanced TV coverage of Newcastle United thanks to the club’s record signing.

The Miguel Almiron transfer has created massive interest across the MLS/America with him easily being the biggest outgoing transfer in the league’s history.

With three victories in his first four starts, that hasn’t done any harm either, especially when you get games like the fightback against Everton, Almiron playing a key part in the crucial equaliser.

Atlanta United fans comment via Reddit:

‘I’m really glad I didn’t adopt some random Euro team a few years back. I can now legitimately support NUFC.’

‘I don’t see Miggy being at Newcastle very long with how well he’s playing.’

‘Ehh, at the very least all next season.

He has a ways to go before he is worth a good profit for Newcastle, and every bigger team will want a large sample of matches to scout him.

For many clubs he’s probably just now getting on the radar.’

‘What a fu..ing goal that would have been!!!’

‘Exactly 30 yards and the keeper could not hold onto it.’

‘The Miggyback!!!’

‘That’s our boy!!!!! Feel like a proud parent right now!’

‘Yep, go get ’em Miggy! Proud of our boy!’

‘I said the same thing! Very happy at the man our boy has become.’

‘Miggy has been superb for US and I love it. Even if he doesn’t score this season he’s already led to a minimum of 5 goals for us in just a few games. I never expected him to come along this quickly.’

‘I feel you. He creates chances at a superstar rate, and it wasn’t reflected in his goal/assist tallies in MLS.’

‘That’s cause he’s light as fu.., that’s how he runs so fast. Ostriches have hollow bones.’

‘Awesome stuff. Seeing Miggy do so well always gets me grinning from ear to ear.

Side note: I’m pretty sure the winner should’ve been offside.’

‘i watched it back, i thought so too but nah he had ran back from offside, had he been the first on the ball then yeah definitely.

Watching it a few times, I thought the first guy on the ball was still a hair off. Hard to definitively tell from the angle I saw, though.’

‘yeah definitely still a judgement call i think, at least its not like Man City’s first goal. VAR is next year right?

Fu.. i hope it goes better than in MLS.’

‘Awesome stuff Miggy!!’

Lee Mason would fit right in with Concacaf.’

‘Very cool NBC is showing the game on CNBC, because I don’t remember premiere league games being regularly shown on CNBC. But let’s be honest, I didn’t follow the league all that closely before Miggy arrived.’

‘They do show games on CNBC from time to time. It’s not a new thing. But they also definitely recognize the new spike in US interest in Newcastle.’

‘Nothing can demonstrate our love for Miggy more than being willing to watch this Newcastle team just for him.’

‘How was that two arm tackle by Pickford not a straight red?’

‘Good rugby form made the ref decide against straight red.’

‘Miggy just set up a goal!’

‘It was a solid shot. Good save by the keeper, lucky deflection.’

‘Shot was a little too on target by Miggy but thanks to the pace he helped set that goall up, nice to see the team fight back.’

‘This match is crazy. Miggy is doing so well.’

‘I didn’t get a chance to watch, but the press is terrible for miggy today.

They are brutal across the pond.’

‘To be fair, he tried a little too hard at times. He needs a bit more patience.’
