The new Sky Sports Power Rankings have been published.

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player’s performance over the last five Premier League matchdays by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.

A heavier weighting is given to the most recent match in descending order to the fifth last one, with the intention of showing who is most in form.

After the midweek matches, which included Newcastle’s win over Burnley, the rankings have now been updated.

Newcastle’s last five PL games have been (working backwards):

Newcastle 2 Burnley 0

Newcastle 2 Huddersfield 0

Wolves 1 Newcastle 1

Tottenham 1 Newcastle 0

Newcastle 2 Man City 1

As you can see, after another excellent performance and thunderbolt opening goal, Fabian Schar is rated the very best player in the Premier League based on recent form.

After last weekend’s round of games, when NUFC beat Huddersfield, Newcastle had four players in the Sky Sports top 50.

Fabian Schar was at 10, Isaac Hayden at number 11, Rondon 15 and Perez at 27.

Newcastle United now have a massive eight players in the Sky Sports in-form top 50.

As well as Schar at the very top, Isaac Hayden has risen to number 7.

Salomon Rondon still in the list but drops to number 27, whilst the superb Sean Longstaff comes in at 37.

Dubravka (41), Lejeune (44), Ritchie (45) and Perez (47) complete the NUFC in-form line-up.

The only regular Newcastle starters not making the list are Lascelles, Yedlin (who was left out on Tuesday) and Miguel Almiron who has only started two games.
