Richard Keys reveals Alan Pardew is coming out of hiding

A long time since we heard from Alan Pardew.

However, Saturday morning has seen Richard Keys reveal that the out of work manager is a guest on his show today.

Keys saying that both Alan Pardew and Andy Cole will be appearing on beINSPORTS this Saturday afternoon.

A combination of the League Cup final, live TV games and Europa League involvement means only four Premier League games on  Saturday.

With only Bournemouth v Wolves and Newcastle v Huddersfield at 3pm.

So no surprise that the focus of their (Richard Keys and Andy Gray’s) show is on Newcastle United.

Richard Keys announcing his guests this way via Twitter:

“Looking forward to talking to Alan Pardew about why it is no manager at Newcastle wants to go after a trophy.

“Last man to get close was Ruud Gullit.

“Andy Cole is also with us.”

With our previous knowledge of him, you know that Richard Keys will quickly be making this into an attack on Rafa Benitez.

Yes Ruud Gullit was the last to get Newcastle to a final (in 1999) but it totally ignores the (pre-Mike Ashley) Sir Bobby era when Newcastle came close in the UEFA Cup (semi-final – same with FA Cup) and indeed competed for the Premier League (Top of PL at Christmas 2001, eventually finished fourth – then third the next season).

Some predictable responses from Newcastle fans and supporters/trolls of other clubs to Richard Keys’ loaded comment, hilarious from the Fulham fan saying we will only be satisfied with Champions League football and should be praising/grateful to Mike Ashley for breaking the club’s transfer record…a transfer record set in 2005 that Ashley had refused to break for over eleven and a half years! Fulham bought three different players last summer who all cost more than Almiron has.

A Fulham fan:

“Unfortunately Richard the geordies seem to think a cup run isn’t good enough.

“They want champions league football, nothing more nothing less so that’s why it’s difficult.”

Newcastle fan:

“You might find it’s the fat owners fault.”

Sunderland fan:

“Be very interesting. Benitez gets away scot free picking weakened teams for cups, fans actually are happy with him doing so!”

Newcastle fan:

“Pardew had Ba, cabaye, ben arfa, debuchy, tiote, cisse and was mid table after Ashley backed him, he didn’t get near to a cup final.

“Benitez has made a profit for him while keeping us in the premier league with a midfield two of Hayden and Longstaff. Get some perspective mate.”

Fulham fan again:

Pardew got you europa league quarter final yet no geordie says thank you?

“Ashley just broke the transfer record yet he doesn’t get any praise??”
