Newcastle United reduce prices to £15 and £5 to try and prevent Burnley being lowest crowd of season
Season ticket holders have been sent an email regarding Newcastle v Burnley tickets.
Despite it being a crucial relegation clash, it looks guaranteed to see the lowest crowd of the season so far.
The 49,266 who turned up for the Bournemouth game in November is the current lowest St James Park Premier League attendance this season at the minute.
However, at the moment, in eight days times you could see thousands less than that at the Burnley game.
The visitors have only taken 1,155 tickets (away fans entitled to 3,200 maximum) and almost certainly won’t sell even them.
With it being a midweek match and live on TV, it all adds up to a lot of empty seats, especially with a lot of fans staying away due to Mike Ashley’s running of the club ( the only home game sold out so far this season was Man Utd).
Newcastle United’s email revealing that for this Burnley match, tickets have been slashed as low as £15 for adults and £5 kids for tickets in Level 7.
The crowds so far at St James Park this season have been:
51,749 v Tottenham
51,791 v Chelsea
52,165 v Arsenal
51,523 v Leicester
50,329 v Brighton
49,157 v Watford
49,266 v Bournemouth
51,853 v West Ham
50,223 v Wolves
51,237 v Fulham
52,217 v Man Utd
49,864 v Cardiff
