Michael Owen says he will be ‘disappointed’ if this doesn’t happen at St James Park on Saturday

Michael Owen has been discussing Saturday’s game at St James Park.

Newcastle could potentially pull four points clear of the relegation zone.

Whilst the best Huddersfield could hope for, would be moving to ‘only’ 11 points from safety.

The visitors have picked up only one point in the last 13 Premier League games and look certainties for the drop.

Michael Owen declaring ‘I would be disappointed if the Toon Army were not celebrating another home win at the weekend.’

Little wonder, as Owen points out how Huddersfield are without question the worst club this season in the five biggest European leagues: ‘Huddersfield have scored the fewest goals (14) and lost more games (19) than any side among the top five European Leagues this season and I expect United to add to the Terriers’ dismal record.’

Newcastle’s record of only 22 goals is the next worst after Huddersfield, whilst only Cardiff, Huddersfield and Fulham have lost more than NUFC’s 13 so far.

However, this is surely a must win match for Rafa’s players and Michael Owen predicts it will be a home win and a clean sheet for Newcastle United.

These are the worst performing clubs in each of the ‘big five’ European leagues.

Fewest goals scored:

14 Huddersfield (Premier League)

17 Frosinone (Serie A)

17 Guingamp (Ligue 1)

17 Nuremberg (Bundesliga)

19 Valladolid (La Liga)

Most defeats:

19 Huddersfield (Premier League)

14 Frosinone and Chievo (Serie A)

16 Guingamp (Ligue 1)

15 Stuttgart (Bundesliga)

14 Huesaca (La Liga)

Michael Owen talking to BetVictor:

“Huddersfield have scored the fewest goals (14) and lost more games (19) than any side among the top five European Leagues this season and I expect United to add to the Terriers’ dismal record.

The Magpies have won their last two home league games and there will be many who think they were unfortunate not to take all three points from their trip to Molineux last time.

“I would be disappointed if the Toon Army were not celebrating another home win at the weekend.

“Tip: United to win to nil at 7/4.”
