Huddersfield fans comments – Think Newcastle United match will be time for revival after 1 point in 13 games
Huddersfield fans have seen their team win two Premier League matches in 10 months.
Since beating Watford 1-0 on 14 April 2018, The Terriers have won just the two games.
They actually won two out of three matches in November (2018), giving a sudden false hope of survival.
However, their last 13 Premier League matches have seen 12 defeats and one draw. Leaving them with only 11 points and 12 games remaining currently 14 points off safety.
Despite that, hope spring eternal for some Huddersfield fans, starting at Newcastle…
Huddersfield fans comment via their top Down At The Mac message board:
‘We are going to beat Newcastle, Wolves and Brighton.
Why not, we have as good a chance as not of beating them. Mooy and Billing back to 100% match sharpness with the 2 weeks we have till the game.
All three of those teams will struggle to contain a midfield trio of Hogg, Mooy and Billing. In fact they showed in all three of the reverse fixtures they could not handle them. Newcastle broke once and scored, Wolves, we dominated them, Brighton again we were dominating them until Micheal ‘fecking’ Oliver gave Mounie a red. The proof is there.
Added to this Bacuna is looking decent, Diakhaby is suddenly looking a player. Karlan Grant comes to us in-form and Jan Siewert is clearly going to go on the attack.
I am going to dream and hope. Imagine us suddenly on 20pts, we would be back from the dead. Back in contention and hunting a worried looking lower half of the table.
We are not done yet.’
‘One step at a time, one of these days we will win a game and I think we are capable of upsetting Newcastle.’
‘We’ve won 2 games in 7 months, I hope you’re right but that would be one hell of an upturn in form to win 3 in a row.’
‘We’d need 5 wins just to get above Cardiff and that’s without the teams above us gaining a single point. Then there’d be just eight games left…which include Spurs, Man U and Liverpool.’
‘After the next 7 games, we’ll be in 17th place…’
‘The only ‘minor’ issues being we can’t score goals, stop goals going in or have any luck whatsoever.’
‘I’ve been debating whether to go to Newcastle or not, this discussion might have just pushed me to go!’
Best away trip there is by a country mile (IMHO).’
‘Not to mention it’s a country mile UP to your seat!’
‘Newcastle look like they can’t afford to drop points against us. Brighton are on a bad run; they’ve got Leicester next, then us followed by Palace, Cardiff and Southampton. They’ll want a win before those games.’
‘So they’ll be nervy. We’re way past having anything to be nervous about.’
‘I’ve got a feeling we might get something at Newcastle.
Said i wouldnt do anymore aways after fulham this season but i’m going to it.
Be superb winding those geordie tossers up if we can get a result.
Even though we’ve played them more recently i still cant forget the w..kers taking the pi.. when they beat us at ours in the promotion season.’
‘Just remind me of Newcastle’s last home result…’
‘We have no pressure or expectation now. We are already down. Any town fan who thinks otherwise is a bafoon. And everyone in the league expects nothing less than a comfortable win against us.
Newcastle are bang in the relegation mixer. The self important Geordies will be furious if they don’t get three points against us.’
