Elias Sorensen makes shock return to play for Newcastle United on Monday night
Elias Sorensen was a shock inclusion when Newcastle United named their Monday night Under 23s team.
The NUFC second string are taking on Leeds United at Guiseley’s Nethermoor Park.
The young prolific striker scored 19 goals for Newcastle reserves in the first half of the season.
However, in seven weeks on loan at Blackpool he has still to make a start.
Elias Sorensen restricted so far to only 32 minutes in one sub appearance.
In fact he has only been named on the bench for four League One games, the last of those 16 days ago.
Whilst he plays for Newcastle United’s Under 23s tonight, Elias Sorensen will return to Blackpool after the game.
The loan deal allows him to still play for NUFC reserves to get extra game time, particularly with not getting more opportunities at Blackpool.
Jamie Sterry is in the same position, on loan at Crewe but not getting a single minute so far on loan. He is also named in the NUFC Under 23s team tonight.
