Bournemouth announce sellout of Newcastle United match six weeks early
Bournemouth have announced that they have sold out of tickets for the visit of Newcastle United even before tickets have gone on sale to away supporters.
With six weeks still to go to the game, Bournemouth confirmed that the final tickets were sold on Wednesday for the game.
So any Newcastle fans on the south coast will now be relying on help from NUFC season ticket holders if they are to see the game.
It is a 3pm kick-off on Saturday 16 March and despite the distance, Newcastle fans usually snap up the away tickets quickly.
With a capacity of just under eleven thousand there has been much talk of building a bigger stadium but recent matches haven’t even sold out with this low capacity.
Whilst the visits of Liverpool (10,752) and Arsenal (10,792) saw the Vitality Stadium full, since early December that hasn’t been the case.
Less than 10,000 were there for the visit of Huddersfield (9,980) in December, whilst even the last two games against West Ham (10,495) and Chelsea (10,227) didn’t see the ground full.
Official Bournemouth announcement:
‘All tickets have been issued for the visit of Newcastle to Vitality Stadium.
The Magpies are scheduled to travel south on Saturday 16th March, with a 3pm kick-off.
Tickets sold out after reaching 15+ home points on Wednesday 6th February.
However, supporters can still come to Vitality Stadium to cheer on our under-21s in their big Premier League cup clash against Liverpool. The fixture takes place on 24th February, with tickets available now.’
