Atlanta United fans comments as get all emotional with first Miguel Almiron Newcastle start
Atlanta United fans have been reacting after Miguel Almiron made his first start for Newcastle United.
The Paraguayan a real livewire and so unlucky not to score BUT lucky not to get serious injury when Smith was red carded.
The Atlanta United fans wished their star player all the best when he left and now he is actually playing for Newcastle in the Premier League they are loving it.
The only real room for improvement that they see, is Almiron converting more of his chances.
‘It made me so happy to see how well he did and how much the Newcastle fan base is already in love with him.’
‘Miggy is tearing it up out there. Was the victim of a straight red card offense in the 20’ minute. Had a shot off the post. Four or five deadly crosses in. Our boy is doing just fine.
Oh and it’s only half time.’
‘Friendship ended with River Plate. Newcastle is now my new best friend.’
‘Why am I crying at the pitch right now.’
‘Glad to see them taking good care of our favorite son.’
‘It’s not dusty in here. I’m legit crying. That’s awesome. Feel like I’m watching my son play!!’
‘We are United.” Nice shout out!’
‘Incredible. Well done Newcastle.’
‘Glad that Miggy is doing so well out there!’
‘Our boy is all grown up. I love this.’
‘I don’t think it’s possible to hate Miggy. His smile is contagious, and he definitely had a smile today.’
‘My only concern with Miggy has always been his finishing at times.
I think he might spend a lot of energy on the run, and sometimes his concentration on the scoring effort lacks.
Missed a few on goal opportunities while here as well.’
‘I’m sure he’ll improve. He’s a hard working player who seems to want to improve his craft all around. I just recall some pundits were saying he wasn’t Europe Ready because of his finishing.’
‘They are playing him out on the wing, he centered the ball some but with his speed often times there was no one to pass to.’
‘Man, how many times have we seen Almiron come whiskers away from scoring an amazing goal like this? If he could just be a little more clinical in his finishing he’d be unstoppable.’
‘He really needs to improve his finishing skills. Everything else is so on point, but this is a major gap in his game.’
‘Looks like Miggy’s finishing for the first half of last season. Love the guy and he helped us in so many more ways than just scoring goals…but you HAVE to put chances like that away if you want to stay on the pitch in England.’
‘God he’s so f…ing good.’
‘Our little baby is all growed up.’
‘Miggy is on fire, great passing, great pace, not afraid to shoot.
Such a fun player to watch!’
‘He is fun to watch for sure. I’m probably biased as hell but he seems like the best player on the field!’
‘The whole team and pace is better with him in the game (compared to the last two games). Definitely an upgrade. Mad to think our Miggy can be big in EPL.’
‘Standing ovation. Love it!’
‘He’s a proper player. We all knew it but it’s nice to see him doing well right from the off. His bit of flair and incredible distribution is something the Toon have been lacking. Goals will come. Keep running Miggy! The Geordies love you already!’
‘Not that I didn’t LOVE the ovation he got, but why would they sub off Miggy there? Still had plenty of gas in the tank it seemed.’
‘Two more games for Newcastle in the next week is my guess. Subbed off only important attacking players to keep them fresh as Newcastle lack quality attacking depth.’
‘Very cool and proud to see MLS chants at Newcastle’s stadium at the end of the first half. Almiron has been on fire.’
‘Several almost goals & caused a red card in the first half. I’d say he’s beasting it!’
‘Never imagined the day when a player who played on a soccer team in Atlanta would be showcased on Premier League mornings and the hosts saying how a Premier League atmosphere isn’t quite like the one Miguel enjoyed at Atlanta.
Very proud indeed.’
