Rolando Aaron and Achraf Lazaar on way to Sheffield Wednesday – Sky Sports
Sheffield Wednesday have come riding to the rescue for two Newcastle players.
Rafa Benitez has made it very clear that Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar have no future at the club.
Between them they have only two league starts in the near three years Rafa Benitez has been at the club and those were both for Aarons.
The two of them are now having their medicals for Sheffield Wednesday according to Sky Sports.
Steve Bruce the new manager at Hillsborough and has limited funds to try and turn around a club currently 17th in the second tier.
Callum Roberts went on loan to Colchester earlier today, whilst Jacob Murphy is in the process of joining West Brom until the end of the season.
Rolando Aarons turns 24 in November and his career is currently going nowhere, with poor loan spells at Hellas Verona and Slovan Liberec seeing him get only nine league starts in total.
As for Achraf Lazaar, it is arguably even worse.
He turned 27 nine days ago and has somehow managed not to start a single league match in his time at Newcastle.
In the two and a half years since leaving Palermo, his only six league starts were during a disastrous year long loan at Benevento.
He was so poor in the first half of his loan year, the Italian club didn’t even name Lazaar in their eligible official squad for the second half of the season.
Good news anyway that all being well Rafa Benitez has been able to shift the pair of them, even if only temporarily.
