Pep Guardiola looks forward to Tuesday “Newcastle defend very well but I have a feeling we can attack better”

Pep Guardiola has been talking to the media ahead of visiting St James Park.

Looking forward to the game, the Man City boss declares ‘Newcastle play similar to Burnley.’

A little bit ominous when at the weekend Manchester City beat Burnley 5-0 in the FA Cup, Jesus scoring on 23 minutes and then City adding four more in a half hour period in the second half.

Even more ominous, Manchester City have already also beaten Burnley 5-0 in the Premier League as well this season.

Pep Guardiola pays Rafa and his team a compliment but then there is always a punchline…’Newcastle defend very well but I have a feeling we can attack better.’

I don’t want to worry anybody but Man City have won every single match so far this month and scored 30 goals in a 23 day period.

Claims that they are in any kind of a decline might have just been a little bit premature…

Pep Guardiola:

“Newcastle play similar to Burnley.

“Of course, every team is completely different.

“One of Burnley’s strong points is set-pieces and long balls. In these games Fernandinho is so important. At 33 he sometimes needs the rhythm.

“He’s strong, I think he feels good right now, he’s had a rest.

“The past two seasons, it has always been tough (against Newcastle) and I imagine that will happen tomorrow.

“Newcastle defend very well but I have a feeling we can attack better.

“All the teams want to fight for the title.

“We have the pressure and feel the pressure but we have to handle it.

“I think there are 14 games left. There are many points left to win.

“We can’t think too much about that and think what we have to do.”

Signing players?:

“I’m not involved in negotiations about players.

“The club is incredible and works perfect.

“Sometimes players go to other places and it happens. The reality is what it is. Sometimes it’s not possible.

“We have enough players for tomorrow (at Newcastle).”
